ABOUT NADI HISTORY
The origins of the ancient Nadi Astrology began hundreds of years ago. There were some great Sages or Rishis who had the idea of being able to predict the future of everyone living on the planet. These forecasts were recorded in Palm Leaves as Nadi josiyam in a particular script. the leaflets are utilized to forecast the future of people the present with the help of Nadi Astrologers. The Rishis from ancient India applied their thinking and discovered a variety of arts and sciences to ensure the health of future generations of humans. One of the sciences is Astrology. There are a variety of branches within Astrology which include Horoscopy., i.e. reading and casting horoscopes that are based on the position of the planets in the year the individual was born and the movement of the planets throughout the Zodiac. This is a well-developed science that is based on the ancient texts such as Brihatsamhita, Jathaka, Paarijatha and many more.
The Maharajah Serfoji II of Tanjore, who was a major supporter of arts and sciences, kept the leaves in his library, so that they could be in the near future. The British recovered the leaves within their reign and then sold them to Indian families, who continue to keep these leaves. They carefully care for them and continue to instruct people on how to read the leaves, so that people are able to benefit from the old-fashioned advice of these Siddhas, also called Naadi Astrology Family. The Siddhas now consider themselves to be Nadi family of astrologers. It is believed that one of the Nadi users Mr.G.Natarajan Swamy is a specialist in this region around Vaitheeswaran oil and is part of one of the most prestigious Nadi families.
The 12th century was when these leaves were discovered in the area in South India ancient Vaitheeswaran Koil in Tamil Nadu. The Nayanar community that discovered these leaves realised their value and made identical copies. They are the custodians of the Nadi Leaves since the time of discovery. The Nayanars are the sole group of people who have been trained for generations to interpret the leaf and interpret them in order to make the predictions. They are also the only people with access to Nadi leaves, and are still following the traditional nadi Astrology. The astrologers later on were fascinated by the knowledge related to nadi-astrology took the leaves from libraries. It is believed that the palm leaves were initially written on animal skins, and some later were copied onto palm leaves. The sources were also kept by using oil extracted from blood of peacocks. The principal center for Nadi Astrology is situated in the Vaitheeswaran oil field situated in South India.
